Candy Words

Anahí Barros

Project year:

2019

The original text of this work edited by Anaya is by Gonzalo Moure with illustrations by Fernando Martín Godoy.

It tells the story of Kori, a deaf-mute boy who lives in Smara, a Saharawi refugee camp.

One day a camel called Caramel was born in his uncles' corral. As she ruminates, she seems to recite sweet poems that only Kori can read from her lips, the only way she can communicate.

Between the two is born a strong friendship that will have to fight against the world of adults, serious men.
