Bamomi is a small container piece of furniture with a rectangular structure that rests on four legs in black lacquered walnut wood. These legs are attached to the base of the container by means of assemblies located inside, which are protected by a beech veneer. This veneer not only protects the assemblies, but also increases the luminosity of the interior of the container, which is enameled in black and has two L-shaped front/side doors, which facilitates greater lighting and visibility of the interior.
The wood marquetry applied to the four visible faces of the piece of furniture is the central element and is developed from three simple triangular shapes. By combining these shapes, a triangle is created which, when duplicated, forms a square. The joints of these linear pieces, arranged alternately perpendicularly, create stars. The artisanal technique of wood marquetry highlights this symbol through the application of optical geometry with the use of simple lines, contrasting colors and contrasting the direction of the grains.
The design of the structure, the linearity and the symbolism represented by the marquetry, as well as the name of the piece of furniture, which comes from the first syllable of the words “Bauhaus”, “Modernity” and “Minimalism”, convey the renewing spirit of these artistic movements.
