Lilium

Jairo Ramos

Project year:

2018

Material: Ocume and ash plywood

LILIUM is a hanger that emerges from a curved plywood sheet that, when repeated radially, creates a slender column that opens in a circular shape resembling the division of the petals of this flower. A delicate corolla that emerges every morning to show all its freshness.

Structurally, it starts from a flat, simple, curved module, which, by joining it with its partner and bending it later, forms a piece of strong sculptural character. In addition, by joining the counterbalanced elements, it is given that form of organic inspiration that has guided the project since its origins. Their legs emerge apart from the ground, then join in the trunk and continue to rise to the cup, where they open again and finally form the six hangers.
