Date: Friday, November 10, 7:00 p.m.
Place: Cultural Center Marcos Valcárcel.
As a result of the collaboration between Praza de Abastos nº 1 of Ourense and the Antonio Failde School of Art, this documentary project arises that now takes the form of an exhibition, and with which we intend to make a humble contribution to the historical memory of the city of Ourense, leaving evidence of how it is this emblematic market. A place that throughout its history has served not only as a source of supply, but also as a meeting point for citizens, and that is now going to be renovated to adapt to the new needs of 21st century consumers.
Through this extensive work carried out in the first course of the Higher Photography Course of the 2016-17 school year, we want to record, not only what this place was like, clearly showing its architecture, but also its activities, its pleasures, the customers, the products, and other almost unknown activities such as washing clothes in the old washrooms. In short, the Modus Vivendi of this fundamental space in the life of the city. We would like to count on your presence at the opening of the exhibition, next Friday, November 10, at 7 p.m. in the Marcos Valcárcel Cultural Center of the Provincial Council of Ourense.
