Arturo Álvarez (Pontevedra, 1964) is a consolidated creator recognized with important awards both inside and outside of Spain, for his conceptual contributions to the world of design lighting. His creations can be found in Great Britain, France, the United States, Australia, etc. It develops from the beginning its own and recognizable style with a strong personality. He freely handles shapes, volumes and light sources in a simple and elegant way, mixing them with mastery and bringing a new vision of creative lighting, coming to conceive surprising light and scenographic montages in the spaces. At present, Arturo Álvarez is developing new forms of expression, with light as the guiding thread and as the protagonist the human being and his relationships, with his lights and shadows, encounters and disagreements. In the last ten years, he has been carrying out an exhaustive work of experimentation and research, developing his own materials that allow him greater creative freedom and expressiveness. Creates and patents SIMETECH®, a translucent material that allows molding and obtaining various textures. His commitment to the new generations of creators leads him to convene the Arturo Álvarez Prize for Young Talents.
Sara Coleman (A Coruña, 1980) Artist and designer of hybrid training, Sara Coleman is a restless creator who constantly faces new questions. She was recently awarded the 2017 ArtsFAD First Prize and is a collaborator and professor in the Master's in Fashion, Art, Culture and Society at the University of A Coruña. In 2007, she founded her own fashion brand: SARA COLEMAN_Organic Design, presenting her fashion collections on the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid runway and at international fairs in the textile sector, an activity that was combined with teaching in different schools and institutions. Throughout her professional career she worked as a designer and pattern designer for various companies in the textile sector, at the same time she collaborated as a costume designer for the Performing Arts and as a stylist in different fashion productions and exhibition assemblies. In his continuous interest in processes, creation and artistic research, he held different workshops. In parallel to these activities, and aware of her own interest in developing a more personal work, Sara Coleman is currently in the midst of research and experimentation in the artistic field.
